THE BLUE RIBBON CAMPAIGN & BLUE RIBBONS DAYS

The Blue Ribbon campaign was created following the death of Baby Peter and its aim is to help raise awareness of child abuse.  The blue ribbon is the international sign for child abuse prevention.  The colour blue was chosen to represent the bruised and battered bodies of the thousands of children that are abused every day.

We have been selling blue ribbons and want to encourage people to wear their blue ribbon with pride whilst inspiring others to notice the cause.  This, in turn, helps raise much needed funds so that the NSPCC can continue their important work protecting children.

We are asking people if they would consider participating in a Blue Ribbon Day in their workplace, office, school, etc.

Here are 2 easy ways to participate in a Blue Ribbon Day:

1.      This is an easy way for all to raise money and awareness for the Blue Ribbon Campaign. Simply ask your school/workplace/group to dress in blue for the day for a small donation to the NSPCC fund.  This works great with school and workplaces that have a uniform or dress code as it is quite often a welcome break from the norm and is noticed by others.

2.      Selling a Blue Ribbon at your school / workplace / group.  Contact us for more information on ribbons for collections.  No matter how small the donation - every little counts!

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the 2009 Blue Ribbon Campaign and making it such a success.  It raised over £2500 for the fund.

The 2010 Blue Ribbon campaign is already underway with the new design blue ribbon on sale (see gifts page).  This year the ribbon bears a blue heart in the centre.  It was designed with the help of Harry Sharkie, aged 7, who came up with idea, as he said that it represents how we hold Peter close to our hearts.

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP?

Do you work for a company that you think might like to take part?  Do you think you would be able to sell Blue Ribbons in your area?  Perhaps you own a shop and could sell ribbons on your counter?

We will provide you with a letter template explaining how organisations can get involved, help with media coverage (if needed) & supply materials etc.

If you would like to get involved in our awareness campaign, please contact Karen at
